IronRidge BX-10D-P1 BX Chassis Ballasted Mount 10 Degrees

The IronRidge® BX System is designed to meet the needs of commercial solar—navigating complex roof layouts, while also handling the most extreme environmental conditions.

At the core of the BX system is the Chassis, a ballasted mount made of BASF Ultramid. Ultramid polyamides are exceptional for their high mechanical strength, rigidity and thermal stability.

Moreover, Ultramid polyamides afford good impact resistance even at low temperatures as well as UV protections for long life. Chassis come in 5° and 10° options and are backed by IronRidge’s 25-year warranty.

FAQs

  • Can I use the BX Chassis in portrait layout?
No, the BX Chassis is only designed for landscape layout.
  • Is the 5 degree and 10 degree BX Chassis the same base but with hardware mounted in a different position or are they totally different products? In other words, can a 10 degree chassis be converted to a 5 degree chassis?
The 5 degree and 10 degree BX Chassis are exactly the same chassis with hardware mounted in a different position to give them their angle. Yes, the 10 degree chassis can be converted to a 5 degree chassis by removing and reinstalling the bolt and channel nut to the only other hole (both holes are labeled per their respective angles) and retorquing to 5 ft/lbs.
  • What is the wind rating of the BX Chassis?
The BX Chassis itself does not have a wind rating. However, the wind conditions in your area will determine the number of concrete ballast blocks to install.
  • How many concrete ballast blocks do I need to install in the BX Chassis?
This depends on the wind conditions in your area.
