FAQs
- How can I keep the batteries warm in the winter?
Fortress Power recommends a 12" x 18" 48V heating blanket such as the ProTherm Ultra Flexible Fiber Thermics Heat Blanket (Part No. 48HB1812-RDS). This blanket can fit underneath two eFlex batteries within the DuraRack cabinet's middle shelf. For extreme cold weather environments, use a second heat blanket on the bottom shelf. Then wire the positive and negative wires to a din-rail mountable thermostat like the Stego Compact Thumbwheel Thermostats. Alternatively, if you are running AC power to the heater, you can use a DIN rail heater with a built-in thermostat inside the DuraRack enclosure. Fortress Power has tested the Stego CSF 060 Touch-Safe PTC Heater.
