The MidNite Solar Surge Protector Device (MNSPD) is a Type 1 device per UL1449 rev3. It is designed for both AC and DC systems and provides protection to service panels, load centers or where the SPD is directly connected to the electronic device requiring protection. Protection for grid-tie PV combiners and inverter input circuits.

FAQs

• Will the SPDs work in an off-grid only application?
  Yes, the SPDs are valuable protection in grid-tie and off-grid applications. Their purpose is to protect the circuit, so they are still helpful in off-grid only systems.
• Why isn't the LED working on my MNSPD-600?
  You need have to voltage running through the black wire and the red wire. You can test the LED by applying the black and red wire to a 9V battery to be certain it works.
• How will I know when the MNSPD is not good anymore after a surge?
  There are two metal clips inside the MNSPD. If one of them is broken and popped-up, then a surge has run through the MNSPD and it needs to be replaced.
